Default Enough with the AED! Converting to manual choke, help needed.

I’ve read all about the unreliable nature of the AED unit, however I really liked the idea of an automated choke in a 40 plus year old car and I wanted to check myself, if it’s possible to make it work. After all, I thought that a full rebuild and adjustment following the instructions would do the job. I was wrong and after endless attempts on tuning the device, I finally dropped the idea of leaving it in the car.

I want the engine to be much more reliable in lower temperatures and for that I think converting to manual choke is essential. I’ve searched the internet for upgrades options, but I can’t really find an exact solution.
I know there is a complete set available, but with more than €300 it’s a bit pricy.

I spotted in the write-up on carb tuning, which was posted here on the forum somewhere, that the conversion was done with additional lever at the carbs ( AUD 2610??).

Could someone please, help me with the choice of parts to do this task? Or at least post a photo of the additional carb parts needed? My car has HS8 SU’s.

Any help will be much appreciated.

the auto parts stores in my local area have a Manual Choke Cable Kit for $25.00, comes with a few brackets, and the pull cable with a black knob.

How to do it? I have no clue. I posted the question in the International S type Forum, because I also wanted to eliminate the AED and go to a Manual Choke, like my 1969 MG-B which worked perfectly.

Thank you for the link. This helps, but I still don't know the part number of the choke lever. Searching the number listed below the movie doesn't show any results on the SU parts website.
