Default Exit Compressor

no longer running a/c and compressor is entirely disconnected except for the belt that powers it, can i assume that as the belt is merely piggie backed to another and not essential to any other device that I can removed both the compressor unit and the belt that drives it without any problem being cause any where else?

The main belt you require on an engine is the one that operates the alternator and water pump, that belt is on its on pulley

The A/C unit uses its own V belt and tensioner pulley, removing that belt will not be a drama.

The same with the Air pump.

If you completely remove the A/C compressor, running a new fuel line ($5) will be required to bypass the cooler that's in the A/C unit.

A lot of weight in the A/C system.

one of the belts also turns the power steering pump.

just remove the compressor belt, but not the compressor.
