Default Fuel Tank Filler Cap Leak

As above, I just filled up my '73 Series 1 XJ6 and then drove to work and back home. I didn't notice any fuel leaking when I parked up in my driveway but, I wasn't really looking.

I threw the car cover on and didn't see the car again for 2 days. On pulling the car cover off I noticed that there was fuel around the RH Fuel Tank Filler Cap and that fuel had been running down the RH Rear Wing.

I cleaned up the fuel and switched over to the RH Tank in an effort to lower the fuel level of the RH Tank, but the overall smell of fuel in the cabin is very strong.

If I push the RH Filler Cap down it seems to have more movement than the LH Filler Cap (which seals just fine).

From a quick look at an online parts catalogue, the Filler Cap Seals seem to be a little different between S1 and S2?

Advice appreciated.

Jose, they look OK? I'll get some new ones anyway but, I was wondering if the Series 2 version (if different from S1) can be fitted as it looks different from the catalogue pictures I've seen?

Woz, I'm not familiar with the Series 2 seals. For some reason, the Series 2 XJ is a rare sight in the US, you just don't see them; The Series 1 and 3 are more common than the 2 where I have lived.

The Tanks are 12 IMP Gallons (54.55 litres) each on the Series 1. Might be a bit less on a Series 3 due to extra components in the tank?

I can fill each tank about 11.5 gals. each, but there's always fuel in there. 24 gals. total sounds about right.
