Walter1982, thats great. Sorry, haven't been able to get to my computer lately, and JagtecOhio, thanks for the typo comment. I did mean the switch over (switch) in the dash, nothing to do with the valve, as I stated. My mistake. After reattaching my plug, it worked for awhile, then, on one tank it would work, but the other would only work if I applied pressure to the side of the switch. I found another switch on ebay, for $9.00, installed it, and its been like new ever since. I say this, for those that haven't yet needed to replace parts, ebay is a good source of parts, but you take your chances. Also, most of us know David Boger of this site, everydayxj.com, and Jag-lovers, and is a great source of used parts at great prices. I've bought several parts from David, as well as complete front and rear seats, and have always gotten good deals.

Jose, yeah, I've bought, probably a couple hundred items on ebay, and, the only problem I've had was a speedometer for my XJ-6. It had been supposedly, freshly rebuilt by a speedo rebuilder. Put it on my Jag, and no go. Didn't bother sending it back, but could have. Something about seeing an old speedometer with zero miles, I guess. Got another one from David, and works fine. But, your right about the protection from ebay and paypal. Paypal is the only way to go. I see posts on this site as well as others, where new Jag owners are looking for a source of parts, and just letting them know that ebay is at their finger tips.

Hey guys, my speedometer works intermittantly still. When it is malfunctioning, it reads really slow and the needle jiggles around. Today however it worked fine on a 50 mile road trip... I located the large round thing in my trans that is responsibile for relaying this info and it was a tad loose, in and out not side to side. It is held in by 2 bolts and is tight on the bolts, just the round thing has slight in and out play. Any ideas on removal and troubleshooting?

Sorry, I haven't experienced the speedometer transducer yet, but will soon, because mine stops at times, which is the classic sign of the transducer either being bad, or the wires needing cleaning or being frayed. Next time under the car I'll have a good look at it though. I doubt that it should have any play in its mounting though.
