HE Vacuum Advance on Pre HE Distributor
Hi all,
Long time no speak.
Hope everyone is well and you're looking after yourselves.
Quick question - I hope...
Can a Pre HE V12 D-Jetronic distributor be fitted with a vacuum advance module from an HE V12?
Thanks in advance,
Roger

Yes Roger.
Then run the vac hose from the engine side disc spigot under the A bank throttle body.
If that is not there use the spare spigot on the A Bank Inlet Manifold end plate at the rear.
You will need to "Drive Time" it after that, as the timing marks will mean little as far as purist stuff goes. I started with 10deg ish BTDC, and then upped it until the engine was just "on song". I seriously doubt you will get a PreHE to "ping" like the HE, none of mine ever did, and I have no idea where the timing ended up, they just ran SWEET.
Your PreHE would have a 15deg mechanical advance (HE Aust is 13 Deg).
