Well, I'm standing at the edge of the precipice Jose, but I'm still wondering if I should jump into the wiper improvement project. I've spent the last couple of days sorting the diagrams and instructions you passed on. I did quite a bit of head scratching and wondering why their color code and my car were not the same. I finally saw the key to the puzzle today and now feel the job is doable (for me). I'm only a little reluctant because I have never experienced the wiper operation and am going on blind faith that they are bad enough that if a fix is available, it should be done. I can see why the wipers would be a little weak-kneed with the power going through the switch and wiper control.

I will do a little more planning and poking tomorrow, and more than likely go ahead with the improvement.

Having had many years driving experience in these cars, and living in the wet PNW, it's almost certain that your car will benefit. All Series IIIs suffer slow-ish wipers.

Oddly, I've never done the mod myself....although I've often intended to. Personally, I'd do just the high-speed relay, but that's just me. I find the wipers to be OK unless you're stuck in a real gully-washer downpour. The high speed just isn't fast enough

Cheers

I appreciate your voice of experience with the wipers Doug. With that, I will go forward with the whole ball of wax as long as I'm in there. I figure if there is an improvement for each, I just as well do them. The scary part is still that the narrative, SKJ diagrams, and the actual wiring colors do not match in half of the steps. I've read everything one more time tonight and matched the instructions pin by pin to each relay. From that I can trace that wire far enough one way or the other and it usually turns into the wire color that is in the instructions.

Anyway, I'll start a new thread tomorrow. But I am going to be very leery of letting Jose talk me into anything else in the future.

Dave, Years ago I posted SK Jagtech's series of pictures showing the actual wiring. I just can't find it. That would be File Number 5.

I was waiting for Doug to explain it in english because I don't understand chinese.

I have to do mine too. I've already wasted $40. for a new motor thinking mine was the issue. No luck. The old "throw parts at the problem" never pays.

But I simply do not understand how to do this mod. Oh yeahh, and exactly WHERE to hang those relays? I mean, there are 15 wires, we are talking HARNESS here.

But again, don't let me discourage you, this is a mod that MUST be done.
