Default Hello, Kitty!

Someone posted a customized Xj6 in here the other day, parts of which I said to myself, "Self," I said, "you can do that!" So, as it was raining, I did!

I have a couple tiny Leapers that husband bought, and I've been casting around for an idea to put at least one of them in the cabin somewhere (Series 2 has none).

I thought of the glove box door until I saw what's involved and sort of gave up the whole idea until I saw that customization: A Leaper on the back of the trinket shelf!

I wondered how to attach it, couldn't drill holes as the evaporator is right behind there. So I cut off the mounting studs and just glued it to the felt with Black Death, 3M black weatherstrip adhesive.

It'll probably stay as long as I have the car.

Hello, Kitty!

Looking good.

Luv that DARK wood. Our Daimler had that, much more fitting than that lighter stuff some had.

Thanks, Guys,
Grant, I can't take credit for that Beautiful dark wood (or much of anything else). She came to me that way, but it was one of the things that made me love her at first sight.

The previous owner was an artist of sorts, said he chose the wood, and the hides for the seats, and the carpets, had the the springs shortened all around (lowing her 2 inches) and mounted the XJ40 wheels, besides the 350/700R4.

No, I can't take credit (or blame) for any of it, but I sure do like to drive her!

Agree. Perfect location. Sure is a nice looking fascia.

I've a tube of badge cement. Black as well. I've used it here and there
to fasten stuff. Akin to "Black death"?

3M yellow weather strip cement, aka "gorilla snot" was once popular.
Replaced by "Black death"?

A bit back, I bought new mirrors for the passenger side of my Jeep and my daughter's Passat. Mine cracked, hers just fell off!!! Windshield sealer was provided by the vendor. worked great. I've used that elsewhere. It is clear.

Thank you, Carl,
Around here, both yellow and black are shelved side by side. I have a tube of each.

Discreet bling - I like it. That beautiful glove box door needs no further adornment (IMO), pleased you spared it!

Thanks, Guys,
I wanted just a Little something in there, besides the Growler on the steering wheel; something small to "Personalize" her a bit (Bling can so easily be overdone, but being a girl I had to have some!). This seemed like the Perfect solution! I'm glad it's so well received.

Seems like younger guys go for bling as well.

Way back in 46, in high school, guys wore three items of bling.
1. Nice wrist watch with metal band. Gold or silver OK.
2. Real silver chain like identification bracelet on the other wrist.
engraved, of course.
3. Real silver belt buckle. (I still have mine). Retired now and no way it can span my present girth.

OTH, my 27 T hot rod had no bling at all. Well, perhaps the shiny
chrome headlights from some A Ford. Traded my smallish tractor lights to pal Billy for them.

Will I ever install my period correct square Hella fog lights on my Jaguar. Doesn't look like it.

Off topic sorta: Neither of my printers will behave. Tax time!!! Can't print down loaded forms!!! Off to the local IRS office for forms, Coco
riding shot gun. Jaguar enjoyed the outing. A blast of LT1 power needed here and there.

Yard chores later....
