On a 1977 series 2 XJ6 with in tank pumps; how many gallons does it take before it reaches the pump level? I think each tank is 11 or 12 gallons but the pump is not quite to the bottom.

I should have measured it when I had them out.

The pump should reach the bottom and 'back-in-the-day' I always used Chevy Vega fuel pumps because the Jag pumps were way over priced.

 

Series 2 tanks are 12 US Gallons each.

Memory, you are kidding??

Mine spluttered at about the 6ltr remaining make.

They were 45+ltr each, and memory again, took just shy of 40 ltrs when they spluttered.
