Default I Love My Wife!!

No, i wasnt forced to say that!
Our anniversary is next weekend, and last night she handed me a piece of paper with directions on it, and said make sure the jag can make it!
She has gotten us a room in St Augustine and has planned a scenic drive to get there, It normally about 2-2.5 hours by interstates, looks like her way will take about 3.5!! I cant wait!!!

Darren:

Great.

There is a saying, "happy wife, happy life". I suspect your wise wife
realizes the flip side is equally true!!!

Have fun.

Your wife been talking to mine?????????

Our 31st anniversay is in July, and she has planned another road trip, oh my.

I will find out when I find out.

Last one was in the XJ-S and took 10 months and covered 20,000kms.

This one will be in the Black Beast, and being as it is a Jaguar I have absolute FAITH.

I usually say "Happy wife, Happier husband".

I can relate to this happy story. My wife loves a long trip in a Jaguar ( and yes, the marque makes a difference). Part of it is the comfort of the Jaguar but much of it is simply having me captive beside her for hours on end. Next week we have a 5 hour trip in my X- Type wagon ( wonderful road car) and both she and I are looking forward to it. I can drive the Jaguar and pretend to listen - both parties perfectly happy.

Gregory:

Yeah, unfortunately, my dear wife departed for paradise in
09. I sure do miss her. Riding in her Jaguar pleased her to
no end.

But, all I need do, is not insert my hearing aids !!!!

Well Carl, I don't use hearing aids (yet) so I have to maintain the balance of appearing to listen (with appropriate interjections occasionally) while concentrating on the fun of driving the Jag. My wife is actually an enabler...she seems to think that having several Jags at the same time is normal; and she loves going fast...this lead to an incident a couple of years ago on a beautiful autumn day, on a gorgeous open highway here where the speed limit is 120 kph. We were driving my XK, which is one sweet and very fast car - and as is the case with every Jaguar, the driver and passengers have no idea of the speed unless the speedometer reading is noted. At one point my wife said (verbatim) "you know, you could be going a lot faster in this car." I complied; 10 seconds late we came over a rise to find the RCMP waiting. That was costly. Always polite, those RCMP officers ; he liked the Jag.

Gregory"

Good stories!!

1. Appropriate nodding of the head, while keeping one's eyes on the road worked well for me.

2. Coconspiritors nabbed. Well, that is good on two levels. Mates sharing . No, "I told you so".

Yeah, most of our CHP folks are quite polite as they write out the "ticket". Some town cops and sheriff's not so much.

Knocking on wood, it's been decades since I was last "written up".

Regards.

Tomorrow's the big day, car all shined up and ready to roll, even got my new jack (wrapped up in a reuseable grocery bag and strapped in place)

I had some free time this week.so i used Google Earth to check out our route, lots of back roads and country lanes, but then we get close to coast and head straight out through some preservation parks and WOW scenery is beautiful then hit A1A and head north with ocean on or right! I am.so excited!! Lots of pics to follow.
On a side note, anniversary was yesterday, 5 yrs. (Yes, i know, barely getting started, but we were friends for eons as i worked with her sisters at a hospital, then we dated forever as i swore i would never marry again after epic failures. I finally figured out that this one is for real and isnt out to.ruin my life! To show how long we dated, we have a 13 year old daughter!)

Anyways. I made steak and lobster for dinner and.got her a chaise to match our outdoor furniture. Made of what else but wood!!!!!

My hearty congratulations. Enjoy the path together.

I got lucky and got it right the first and only time. Dear departed
and I shared over 50 together. Lots of adventure from the beginning
and to the end. Two great kids as well. Each look after me in differing ways. Not surprising as we created one of each !!!

I think I got it right too first time round, 22 years of marriage (25 together) and not an argument yet. We both understand when enough has been said and choose to silently disagree when the need arises.
