Default Ignition info needed

Trying to figure out if the problem is in the key or the wiring. Starter motor continues to spin when the car starts. Looking at the catalogs, there is a wiring kit for a Series lll, no mention of the Series ll. Actual key is on/off is unavailable. Help!

The starter is still receiving a signal to engage. Most likely is the ignition key mechanism is sticking or faulty and not returning to the ignition on position when you release the key. Less likely is a faulty starter motor relay. The ignition wiring is the same series 2 and 3 ( well at least in the UK) . If you are confident with following the Jaguar wiring diagram, disconnect the ignition multi connector under the lower panel and bypass the key by bridging the wiring, this will show you whether the problem is key or relay related.
