Default Ignitionproblem XJ12

Hi.
problem with my XJ12 1975 series 2.
Driving it yesterday, and suddenly the engine stops. No ignition at all.
Someone who has any troubleshooting instructions for Opus ignition amplifier?
Any ideas what can be wrong?
The resistance in the ballast unit ,seams ok.
pleased for some help

OOPS.

That list could be long.

BUT

Some info first, as guessing is a waste of time.

1975 could be carby or Injected.
Opus Amp, YES, they do that, hence the Jaguar Kit many, many years ago to move that Amp out of the V.
Ignition coil, they go legs up coz they can.

I will cease here until more is known.
Injected cars have their own very special list of things that go AWOL.

It is a carburetorengine.
Ok, is it the heat from the engine that causes the amplifier to stop? Is it possible to measure on the amp, to see if it is the problem?

Thank you.

Yes, it is the heat.
Many owners here, even more years ago, carried ice water and a towel, and when it stopped, soaked the towel, covered the amp for a few minutes, good to go, until next time. Crazy, but fact.

I removed the Opus on all mine, 12 and 6.

The 12's went to Crane XR700 and never had issues, even today.

I have NO testing info for that Amp, sorry, I just moved on from Opus.

Moving the Amp out of the V was the cure that I remember, but that "kit" is long time NLA, but a bit of outside square thinking, and ectend some wires, why not.

Depening upon funds, SNG Barratt have a kit that replaces the OPUS with a modern but look-alike system.
