Default Just picked her up! (1985 Series III)

Hi Guys,

So I picked up my big cat yesterday afternoon.. Here are the first pictures. It's a 1985 model one owner. Old man just retired, he's moving down to the coast and has no garage space. It's got 171,000km (just over 100,000mi) genuine mileage on it. For the most part it's in a very good condition.

Faults found so far:
1. Exhaust blowing on gasket between manifold and exhaust
2. Power steering 'sticks' on low rpm

So far so good! I'm excited!

Great pics and thanks for them.A man of your word. That's a sweet find, great colour. You will sort out those little problems. Not bad for it's years to have just found two problems....Enjoy!

Very nice find.

Many more years left in that one.

Thank you guys!

Very exciting stuff. I seem to have already diagnosed the power steering issue. The old belt is quite loose and frayed. And it's a little squeaky when the power steering sticks. Going to replace both belts and see if it fixes that issue.

The exhaust gaskets are not a standard item (surprise surprise!), so that will be next weeks story. Not too much of a problem to run/drive it with a leak right? :-)

I'm very surprised that every single thing works in such an old car (a/c cold, windows all work, all electrics 100%). Touch wood.

Default Very nice indeed!

Mine is an 87, same color and it looks like the same color interior (cranberry?) Short of the wheels, it looks like you took pictures of my car.

Very nice!!

The SIII is a class ride all the way, and yours is a beaut! Enjoy...

I'm originally from continental Europe, so it's on the wrong side for me as well, believe me!

Thank you. I'm thoroughly enjoying the car so far.
