Default Lost Keys 1974 XJ6

I have just registered with this group to try and find out how to replace my keys that the kids lost. My question is; do the doors, trunk or fuel door keys match the ignition and if not what is the procedure to remove the tumbler out of the steering column? I have had this car for ten years and it has been sitting the last three. It is mechanically perfect and has no rust and decent paint. I have it listed on Craigslist in Denver or Boulder, CO for $1200 and will take less to save it from the crusher. The interior is shot from sitting out the lat three years. If I can get the key to start it I think I can get more interest than I have so far. One other thing that is too long a story to explain is there is not title and it needs to be retitled through another state or with a bond. Thanks in advance for your help. I have looked through the posts and can't find any information on this old a model about keys.

The Series I and II XJ6's came with 3 keys. Series III is likely to be the same but it's the one model of that I era I never owned so I can't say for sure.

The Ignition Key is larger than the other two:

Other than removing the Ignition Switch and dismantling it to remove the lock barrel, the only other option is brute force.

The second square or round headed key fits the Luggage Compartment and the Glove Box:

The Luggage Compartment is the lock on the right in the above picture.

The third six side headed key fits the Fuel Filler Caps:

The only thing I can't tell you is where your kids put your keys.

Jaguar Heritage in the UK may have a record of the original key numbers. Once you know these, keys can be cut "unseen" and should work, but I'm not sure how one finds a place in the USA that does the cutting nowadays, although there is one here near me in Crewe, England as I had a second ignition key cut for my MG Midget of 1977.

LOL GGG Thanks for the pictures that should help. I am hoping I don't need the keys to pull the ignition switch and remove the tumblers. Still a little disappointed you can't tell me where my kids put the darn keys, though.

And thank you Fraser I didn't even think of that I will call Jaguar in Denver and see if they still have that capability or know of someone that does.
