Default lowering my 87 xj6

is there anything i can do to lower my jag a few inches? I've searched for options and all i can find is doing bags. i don't want to heat up or cut the springs cause that might end up ruining the suspension.

Garcia, the US/CDN versions are already lowered from the UK but I also want to do the same but am at least a year away. I wanted to lower but will need to be able to bring it up to get back into my driveway. I didn't want to bag mine either (concerned about quality) but I've had a couple preliminary discussions with the following company (Ridetech) about their solutions. They said that the 4 rear shocks should be able to work with a 7000 Series - HQ Series ShockWave System but I would likely have to fabricate something to connect to the front. Again hadn't measured yet to see what would be best or if it would work, so I will follow any comments on your posting as well.
