83 XJ6 needs a manual trans to replace the BW66. What can I do? Where can I go? Anyone done it lately? Seems like all have quit making the kits/adapters.
Thank you

Recently I thought my headgasket was toast. So I began to look for a proper swap because the car is too nice to let it die. So I began to look at 1JZ swaps. Getting it done is harder than finding an engine. But Ill someday do it if the XK motor eats it. I still rather keep it all original.

The Dellow's systems are excellent. They produce a number of bell housings and kits for different vehicles. I really endorse them!
For Jaguars, mating up an XK engine to a Toyota Supra 5 speed gearbox is a very popular choice.
I have seen numerous examples of this conversion and all of the owners from Mk1s right through MK2, S types 420 and XJ6 S1,2and 3are extremely happy (and so they should be after dealing with previous DG auto or Moss manual boxes.)
That XK to Toyota system was developed by Dellow in association with Ron Moore a friend of mine who is now deceased.
Cheers

Prefect, Thanks I will see what Dellow's may have and start the hunt for a Supra gearbox.

Dellows also make a bell housing to go between the 6 cylinder engine and T5 transmission, which is probably more common in North America.

Does it fit in the car? The T56 is a lot bigger than a T5, and a T5 is much easier (and cheaper) to find.

And a T5 is sitting behind my stock 1969 TR6 motor and this is a small car.
