Default more problems + over heating!

after putting my vehicle on the road i go for a 1mile drive home 5 min in this city. and almost home the car starts getting hesitant. i barly make it home and she stalls dead after a struggle to stay running. i lift the bonnet because i can smell the issue already sure enough a but of coolant has belched out on top of that i find a broken expansion tank a loose spark plug with a burnt up wire. and a small amount of oil around plug 1.
car has not ran for 7 years so i expect problems.
here is what i have found so far:
Replaced fuel pump.
bad plugs and wires.
over heating: trying thermostat.
starts hard.
rotten gas tanks.
broken stud on wheel.
both front markers are shot.
had a flat.
rusted out fenders and floors.
no wipers or interior lights or power windows.
3.5 gal of oil was in the engine.

Hate to say this, but....

Are you sure the 3.5 gallons of oil was all oil, and not a mixture of coolant and oil? If there's coolant in the oil you probably have a blown head gasket....which goes along with the overheating

no its weird it was all oil the stick said it was that full but i didnt believe it untill it came out thick and black suprisingly no trace of coolant and the oil level is fine now that i replaced it. also i am sure the radiator is full because i have a broken expansion tank and i over filled it and coolant came rushing out of the return line because thats where it broke.
i am going to try the thermostat when i can afford one. and im hoping that the new plugs will show improved starting then again my no6 wire socket looks a little scored. and another problem i founs 3 out of six plugs were finger tight. i have to wait for the battery tonight but i will post everything.

Careful with the Thermostat, I took off a bolt head trying to replace my thermostat. Mines an 86 Xj6 that sat for 2 years until I got a hold of it.
