Default Mysterious wires 1973 series 1 conversion

Hello All!

As I am trying to clean up the engine compartment in this Johns conversion I have come across some wires that are mysterious to me and I have no idea what they might be for,(if anything).

Here are the pics to try and show you what they look like and where they have come from. It is worth noting that I do have a grounding problem on my left low beam headlight...I doubt these wires will correct that, but just trying to share as much info as I can. I have tried to show that the wire that looks like it connects to something is blue. The wire that is bare is black but they both go back to the left side of the engine compartment about midway up.

Is the compressor hooked up? Compressor usually used a blue wire for the + side and a ground for the other side of the compressor clutch coil.

Thank you ICS, I haven't even tried the A/C even though the PO said it was all ready to go. And the compressor is right there, so that has to be it. Thanks!

the blue looks like it is a ground wire, just bolted to the frame, cannot see where black one comes from on my phone! can you follow the black one back and find where where it goes??

Default AC system in Series 1

Hope it works... the Series 1 is very simple but a lot of the parts are NLA and "conversions or adaptations" have to be made. Just finishing up the '72
car I sold almost two years ago... new dual vents look great with the matching veneered panel and custom vents to match the rest of the dash.

If those wires do not go to your compressor, let me know and I can check the two Series 1 cars for the proper attachment points.

Have the longer screws now that go behind the black knobs on the sides and will finish the reinstall today and the "hose" behind the shifter will not be needed to hold it all in place. Was "retained" after selling the car to get it repainted and reupholstered... that is all finishing up in the next week or so - rain dependent. Radio outer piece is not on in this picture. It has S3 controls knobs for the AC and Heat and the brake pedal just fell off onto the floor! Always little things left to do... radio has Bluetooth and the speaker for the phone is attached to the rear view mirror and the car has later model sun visors now with vanity lights.
