all XK engines sound their ticking during startup, announcing they have "awakened", and all Injectors have a ticking sound too. Just keep the engine oil fresh and checked.

Hey Guys,

I had a leaking Cam Cover so decided to pull it off and take a look underneath. I could see that all bar the forward two Tappet Sleeves had received some kind of contact damage from the Camshaft. I already had a stake down kit ready to go, so set about cleaning it all up. This is when I found a piece of Tappet Sleeve shrapnel from the rear most Ex Valve.

I'm going ahead with the stake down kit to stop matters getting worse, but I'm worried that the 1/4-28 UNF Cap Screws that have been supplied aren't up to the job? Should I go with 1/4-20 UNC instead?

Has anyone used UNF and had bad experiences?

Went with the 1/4-20 UNC Cap Screws and everything is holding well.

I my luck would have, I've now found a coolant leak somewhere near the back of the Head/Block!.......
