Hello!

as I wait for the manual to a newly inherited 1973 Jaguar XJ12, I was hoping someone could brief me in a few of the interior options before I start pressing buttons and pulling knobs.

1) There’s an amber light on the driver’s side that has no label but flashes from time to time. Not sure if that’s an indicator of something wrong or something else.
2) Not sure what the Pull Air knob is on the passenger side.

The other options seem to be labeled and straightforward.

looking forward to working on the. At with my husband as this has been kept in the family since my grandpa. Unfortunately I was an only child and did not express an interest in cars like my father and his father but I am now.

Mysterious light. Warning or is it just winking at me?!?

 

might be an aftermarket alarm system?

the pull/air handle is to open a fresh air Vent located on the driver' and passenger side kick panels.

 

That light is illuminated by a micro switch on the choke lever. Perhaps check the choke linkage, etc to make sure it engages/disengages properly.
