New Member - Where are the classic XJ6 buyers?
I want to sell my 1994 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas. It still needs the interior redone. My husband won't let me put anymore money into it. I am not having luck getting offers for even half of what I put into it. How do I find true classic and/or Jaguar lovers locally or online?

Unfortunately, your car is best served as an XJ40.
Only Dr. Andrachuk can break down the split???
Your car is quite a bit more 'sophisticated" than the
69-87 6 cylinder powered cars found here. Canadian
90's vintage V12,s notwithstanding.
But, classic, yes, Affordable among the hard to justify or afford, you bet.
Get you money back by selling your prize? Not much chance if any.
Best, just drive and enjoy. Pleasures not measured in mere money.
At one time, I knew how much I spent on my car. No longer, why,
no way to get it back. Just eased up a lot and now drive and enjoy.

To generate possible interest from any local contact points it will help to disclose what country/region you are in.
As your car is an XJ40 you may find more advice or interest in that section of the forum. My other thought is that the later models (i.e. '93/94) are more sought after by XJ40 lovers, so you have a good start!

My Jag is almost 10 years newer than yours, needs no work and is worth maybe 5% of what it cost new. Whatever I've spent over the years to keep it going is money I'll never see again.
With few exceptions, cars do not hit the bottom of the depreciation cycle until they're 30 or 40 years old. Some never stop depreciating.

Well, the elephant in this room is the fact that the "xj40" model is the least loved of the entire XJ range, despite the fact that the later ones (91-94) were very good cars indeed; they just don't have the appeal of either the earlier or the later cars. Sad but true, and that is probably the reason for the lack of interest, particularly if the car needs interior work.
