Default Popping bonnet

My xj6 pops it's bonnet above 130 km/hour. All is adjusted correctly. All I can see is to replace the spring on the latches in a hope to increase spring pressure. Any ideas

Nope, that is unlikely to work. You need to adjust the length of the strikers on the bonnet so that when it shuts these go far enough into the housing to allow the spring-loaded latches to close underneath the striker pyramids. That's why you'll see each striker has a slot for a screwdriver at the end, plus a lock nut to adjust the length.

Also you need to make sure the latches aren't sticking at all. Check by getting someone to pull the latches a few times and observe the latch action.

I own aircraft and property but for some reason my $6000 Jag makes gives me more feeling of accomplishment and pride than these other more expensive items. I love being in it and working on it and driving it. My pilot is on his way to pick me up a second one so I don't run out of parts in the future.

Fraser is right on the money.

On my Ser III I had to remove the latch assemblies (easy) to get them thoroughly cleaned. They were not sliding easily at all.

After that you just have to be a little patient with the adjustments.

Cheers

When those cars were new there was a bulletin that had us grind a notch in the hood stay on left side. The issue was it was loading up the hinge. Look & see if you have a shiny spot on the hinge, if so grind out a small notch.

Mine does exactly the same thing. My adjusters are frozen so I'm probably looking at replacement. Add that to the list....
