Simple (sort of) remove-and-replace job. It's not a pleasant job but, in a brief nutshell
- separate tie rods from the steering arms
- separate steering column coupler from rack
- remove hydraulic pipes/hoses
- remove three bolts that hold the rack in place
- reverse steps to install new rack
It's awkward and clumsy, and dirty....especially if working on your back.... but certainly DIY-able
Cheers

while you're at it, replace the rubber bushes with John's Cars polyurethane bushing kit to eliminate the side-to-side movement of the rack typical in these cars. Assuming it hasn't been done already.
