Rear Brake Shims - '88 Vanden Plas

Rear Brake Shims - '88 Vanden Plas
Since my previous thread, I have successfully lowered the IRS and have all the brake components removed....pads, rotors, calipers, park brake, and brake lines are all in need of replacement or rebuilt, so, I am glad I went ahead with this project!
My question is in regards to the shims on inboard and outboard side of the rotor (disc). The service manual says to reinstall rotor and caliper and if the things are not centralized, remove and adjust shims! The removal part is a major pain so I was wondering if there is any easier approach, like, simply reinstall the sims as I had taken them off? I will be going with new rotors, calipers, and pads.
Also, any suggestions as to locations to source the parts (I am in Canada); I have checked with the nearest Jaguar dealer and they advise that they cannot supply the calipers or parking brake pads. They suggested I try Welsh Enterprises in the USA. I also had a look at the Barrett site which I believe I learned about on this forum? Comments / suggestions on positive and/or negative experiences?
Regards,
Wayne

In reality that's all that 99% of us ever do.
On the odd chance that the result is the brake disc being significantly off-center you can go back and add/subtract shims. I'm hard pressed to remember anyone ever needing to do so, though.
I'll add that the outboard shims are for adjusting camber. 'Tis only the inboard shims that are use to centralize the disc within the caliper
Cheers
