Default Rear outboard brakes (again)

There was a discussion a few months ago about just how difficult it would be to retro fit outboard disc brakes to a series 3 car.
I thought I would like to do exactly that if I should come across all the necessary parts.
Well after casually looking through Craigslist / auto parts / Jaguar...the other day,.. I came across an ad that had all the parts available for FREE. Some guy had aborted a project and he had gathered all the parts that would be needed. Now he was selling his house and had to get rid of a lot of stuff.

So this morning I drove over with my van and picked up the axles, uprights, ventilated discs etc from a 2001 XJ8 with 100,000 miles on it. A bolt on situation. At the diff output flange, was where they were separated from the original car . Just need to fabricate handbrake cable connections and new brake fluid hard line.
The guy wanted to get rid of all the stuff in the pics, a lot of which are specific to the XJ8 I will junk what I do not need and keep the outboard disc brake system.

I have always had exhaust pipes knocking against the rear calipers (on my inboard brake setup) now I will have the extra room when running the "over the axle" pipes through the cage. We will see.

Keep you all posted
