Default Rear shock stupid question

I have reinstalled the rear back in the car and installed the shocks, everything seems normal
to me, but I was watching a video of a guy doing his rear and it looks like he put shocks in upside down, or did I??? My logic says the wider sleeve that cover the rod and goes over the other part of ahock
body goes on top, he has them other way, so basically he created bowls for water to get caught in, along with dirt etc, please tel me my logic is sound!!
hopefully my description makes
sense!!

It's easier to build the IRS upside down on a bench, so it's easy to put the shocks in the wrong way.
