Default Remote starter connections

Not those key fob systems for cold morning laziness. Just the pistol-grip pushbutton so I don't have to run around from the passenger side to bump it over or start it. It's rated to 10A.

I'm not sure where the best location for connections are. Starter positive to starter solenoid is suggested for bumping over, but may not be the best option not the Jag. And for starting I'm really not sure where to tap. I have all the wiring diagrams, but I'd appreciate a more educated opinion.

If you just want to turn the engine over, without starting, then any permanent live could be used for feed and connection to the starter solenoid (small lead) will do the job. Not sure why you need to do this though.

Not the old way. Battery + to the large post on the solenoid. Jag starter solenoid too far down in netherland.

Easier. remove the r/w ire from the relay. One leg of bump button on it, the other on either battery plus post or the firewall posts.

In my similar but different car, I have an extra wire from the
small post on the solenoid. Applying 12v from what ever source
will crank the engine.

Caveat. Ignition switch must be off and transmission in P or N.
o'wise engine can fire and the car will depart...

Thanks! That's what I was looking for. I was really trying to decide if I should power the starter relay ( WY wire ) and let it do it's thing or directly power the starter solenoid.
