Default Series 1 blower fans

So my passenger side blower motor has never worked since I bought the car a few years ago. I removed it last weekend and no amount of cleaning and tinkering could bring it back from the dead. I just happen to have a couple of GMC blower motors from the 80's and they seem to be similar in size to the Jaguar ones. Has anyone replaced the (pathetic) Jaguar blower fans with different fans? I'm aware that I'll need to run the motor backwards (reverse positive/negative terminals) on the passenger side so it runs clockwise, but the driver's side fan should be a bolt in fix. Then I'll have to figure out the switch and resistors. The GMC fans on A/C vehicles had 4 different speed settings.

I have GM fans in my '71 XJ...they blow more air but cause higher vent temps if on higher speeds.

Interesting. So did you just leave the original Jaguar switch or go with the GM resistor and relay?

I used the original switch and resistors... fan speed and air flow is not the AC performance problem.. the evaporator in the S1
is the source of the deficiency. If you need or want another Jag fan or other AC/heater parts, I have box full of them.

Adrian, I have a pair of NOS motors, left and right, for $100 CAN. I'm in Ontario.

Other S1 stuff to.
