Default Series 2 swb production numbers

Hi all, I've been trying to find out how many series 2 swb were made. I've had all kinds of numbers from the Web and it gets more confusing when you include the coupe. I'm interested in 4 door version. Many thanks in advance

According to Nigel Thorley's JAGUAR - All the Cars fourth edition, Series II four door SWB:

Jaguar XJ6 2.8: 170
Jaguar XJ6 4.2: 12,147
Daimler Sovereign 4.2: 2435
Jaguar XJ6 3.4: 6880
Daimler Sovereign 3.4: 2341

Total Series II production (all variants): 127,961

His research is usually the most reliable.

[QUOTE=GGG;2684425]According to Nigel Thorley's JAGUAR - All the Cars fourth edition, Series II four door SWB:

That is interesting. I was not aware that any 2.8 litre series 2 were produced.

I vaguely remember that there was some sort of problem with the 2.8 engine.
I think it was something to do with valve problems but am not sure.
Perhaps someone in this forum can enlighten us.
