Series 3 manual conversion
A distant part of my project is to convert her to a manual.
Currently I'm think a Tremec T5 as there affordable, common and able to handle the torque after modest engine upgrades.
Any body got any info or views to share?

I have not messed with a stick shift car in a decade, at least. But, in my view, the T5 can handle anything a Jaguar DOHC can dish out with aplomb.
Mating the two is a challenge, but, doable.

The ONLY conversion I have done is install a 1968 'E'Type 4.2 Engine/Trans into a 1972 XJ6.
The pedal box was sourced from England and the rest was fabbed in shop.
I originally installed triple Weber 45 DCOEs with a REDLINE intake manifold into the 1968 'E'Type along with a set of 'steel-tube headers'.
The car left the shop on Friday afternoon and was back in front of the shop Monday morning TOTALED!!!!!!!!!!!! (a wrecker dropped it off over the weekend)
The owner went out to a few pubs on Friday Night and let his friend drive the car.
The front and one side was damaged beyond repair. I cut the drivetrain out of the chassis and then the shop owner got an idea that I should install it in the Series I XJ6 so I did.
The "E'Type gearbox is only a 4 speed so a more modern trans is probably a better idea but it will fit.

Here's a description of a conversion:
1983 XJ6 5 Speed
I'd like to hear of any others anyone knows of.

Here's a link to Vintage Jag Works that sells transmissions and parts to convert Jags.
