Default Shipping woes

Jag arrived in Indy from Arizona. Unfortunately fluids were dripped onto roof and trunk causing paint to wrinkle in a few spots. The paint didn't start to wrinkle until a day after I got it home. It was so dirty when I inspected it coming off truck because of all the rain and snow it saw on its seven day ride I didn't report anything as wrong. So now I guess I have to eat it. It still looks good but is very bad luck.

I have a long list of jobs to start addressing to get it to be more of a driver but I've already started knocking them off. High on list is to replace window seals front and back. I'm wondering if the modern window replacement companies would do a good job or if I'd be better off doing this myself? I have the seals already.

Oh, Greg, how Rotten about those drips!!
I hope you can get those covered with closely matching paint!

I've never seen that front bumper treatment.

from what I understand, there were originally rubber bits that cover those bumper hoops. I kind of like them naked!

Paint v truck issues. Yeah, once signed off, you are pretty much on your own. My initial thought was that your car rode on the lower level of a two deck carrier. And, then leaking brake fluid from a car atop wrinkled the paint. As we all know, BF is an excellent paint remover. But, from your pictures, it enjoyed a top level ride. BF remains a suspect. Perhaps it lived under another car before the voyage. Post lift storage.

Sure looks like a nice car to enjoy....

Nice old Series I; cool

If the journey was long enough the car might well have changed positions on the carrier several times, spending part of the trip below a leaky car. I deal with auto transporters quite often and they're constantly changing their loads along the way.

A fussy customer can sometimes secure a single location on a transporter for the full duration of a long journey....for a price.

Cheers

Makes sense !!! Arizona to Indiana is quite a trip. Unfortunately, still no help likely from the carrier.

I would just accept it and move on....

She's a beauty. Good luck with her.

It's a shame about the drips. You might want to share an honest review regarding the transport company at this website below. Protection from drips above the car should be Shipping 101 for any of these companies.

Also, assuming you insured it prior to the transport, might be worth calling you insurance company. I've been covered on similar road related damage in the past under my comprehensive coverage. You still have the deductible, but may have enough money in the claim to ensure the job is done 100%.
