Smile SPRING!!

Spring has sprung in the Great Central Valley of California, and all the hibernating sporty cars are coming out of their winter burrows.

Including Nix, although she hasn't really hibernated this year as we've had a dry winter. But I digress........

As I was coming out of town yesterday, driving Nix of course as it was a Beeeeautiful sunny day, I rounded a long sweeping left curve leaving a traffic light (ON THE FREEWAY but we were first in line), when the driver of a newish 'Vette just coming the other way spotted Nix, all newly shined up and looking Fine!

I *Know* that look when I see it!

His mouth was hanging open and if he had turned his head any further watching her go by he might have seriously injured his neck!

Yeah I know, this is Not a February picture, it's from last Summer, but this is what the fella saw.

She spreads happiness and joy wherever she goes.

Winter not over here in the UK yet. However our first car club run of 2018 is on 18th Feb, the St Valentines Day Run for our MG Midget and AH Sprite OC, although I'll be taking our TF on this. Hope weather smiles on us, but wife is unlikely to allow the top to come down !!

I'm happy to say we have had spring here in Las Vegas just about all winter long. Nothing better than a fresh wash and polished jaguar with the top down and the sun shining.

This week, I'm taking my new XJ12 to a detailer who specializes in Jags for precisely that reason: Spring is around the corner. After I get the detailing done, I'm going to do some minor mechanical work, then after Easter, I'm going to drive!

When I had my Datsun Roadster (you can find it in my albums: https://www.jaguarforums.com/g/album/3006591), I *Never* drove with the top up! It didn't even have a top while I owned it!

Wash'n'Wear sports car haircut (not much shorter than it is now), wind in my hair, wrap-around shades to keep it out of my eyes.

Sometimes I miss it, but selling it was a good decision at the time.

Great to see Nix out and about Elinor.

We are still in the end of our wet season and I have a bloody big ugly hole in the roof. So no driving going on here. I get to ride in the wet instead.

Thank you!
I sold it in 2009 to a fella from Vancouver, who took it home and turned it into this:

I was Devastated when I saw these pictures! In my opinion, he took a Cute little car and turned it into a Cheap Tart! I only take solace in the fact he paid me a LOT of money for the privilege.

True, so much !!!

My daughter acquired one decades ago. I drove it a few times. Great stick shift fun. It's engine was a bit "smoky" when she got it. Son decided to set sibling rivalry aside and refreshed it. Much sharper.
Daughter, not a car gal, unaware of what she had ???

One week end she came to visit us from her home in Santa Cruz.
She enlisted the help of a gas station "mechanic: to swap in a new t'stat. To fix an o'heat issue ??? Mad at son and I for a forgotten reason ???

Ouch, he busted the alloy housing !!! Mom, Dad, help !!! Gotta get back to work Pronto !!!

OK, 60 Toyota FD40 Land cruiser OTW. Fast ? Not even close. But, I kept it at 60 mph steady. In time. I think daughter was beginning to "get it". Stodgy old Dad could get t done !!!

Yes, and for the money he poured into this, he could have bought one NEW!
But I got these pictures in 2010. He might not even have the car now.

Matters little though, as I mentioned, it was the right decision to sell it at the time, and he paid me a LOT of money for the privileged to make this kind of fool of himself.
