I completely think your right Stoney. However today I drove it alot and it is back to it's old self. The AFM change over seems to have fixed it 95%. The injectors now are second to the tranny rebuild that I'm ordering parts for tomorrow. I hope I can get done type of how to on here for the rebuild.

Had the same problems with my 82 series 3. Constant stalls and then it would start when it wanted to. Drained the tanks and looked up in them with a light and they were a little rusty. I replaced the filter and the pump, and took apart all the lines in the trunk and cleaned them all out. I found that the valve that connects the line from each tank in the trunk was clogged with sediments and rust.

Yea, I went thru all that myself. actually took tanks out and filled with muriatic acid and thoughly flushed them. I get a slight bit of discoloration in the glass pre filter I installed because of one tank but it's not the problem for sure. It is resolved for me when I changed the AFM.

Good to know it was a relatively easy fix, I'd still recommend cleaning the injectors and new engine bay fuel lines in the near future.

Believe me I am going to. My tranny is top priority now. HAVE to rebuild it. going to order the parts tomorrow and get it done asap. then the injectors are going to be top priority. The tranny is getting worse and I'm almost out of adjustment on the band.
