Default Steering Wheel Swap: '91 to '87 XJ6

Hi: does anyone know if I can install my oem steering wheel from my '91 xj6 onto a '87 xj6? I think the groves cut into my '91 wheel should fit onto the steering column spline of the '87. Thanks in advance for your input. Ren

if the '91 has an air bag, you need to disable it and remove it from the wheel first. The thing could go off. Normally air bags must be kept face down when being handled. Disabling an air bag is another subject.

If no air bag and the splines match, Why not?
