Couple of quick questions -- what is the color of the wire for the temperature sensor on a series 2 XJ6? I have a couple of dangling wires, not sure which it is... engine has been out for a while and I must've lost the label.

Also-- What are the 2 sensors/ sending units in the oil passage of the block behind the filter? My pressure gauge sender is on the filter housing, switch for the pressure light is in front of that I think, but I'm struggling to find wires for the 2 in the rear? Knowing what they are for would help me with the wiring diagram. Help!

Anyone? Bueller?

Temp sender is on the front of the intake manifold... I'm thinking it's a green wire, but not certain. I have one in the vicinity with nothing hooked to it.

First, my hands-on Series II experience is nil. But, since nobody else has chimed in.....

The temp sensor for the dashboard gauge will probably have a green/blue wire. That's what it is on a Series III....and a great many of the wiring color codes are consitent over the years

I dunno.

I DO know that some Series II cars used an oil pressure switch in the fuel pump circuit, disabling the circuit of pressure dropped below 3 PSI or some such.
