Hi, I'm Riley. I'm thinking about getting this Jag. If I do I'll probably be on these forums a lot. I used to have a BMW.

What do you guys think?
106,000 miles, all receipts since new, back seats need replacing or reupholstering, front seats aren't as bad but could also use to be reupholstered. It also needs various other little things that aren't that big of a deal. NO rust at all. a california car it did bake in the sun though.

Yeah, it'll surely need some work and new leather will cost you more than than purchase price of the car, but it looks like a more-than-decent starting point from the pics.
If you're a halfway decent DIY mechanic most repairs on these cars are not too difficult.
Functioning climate control would be a real plus !
Cheers

Looks pretty good for a 34 year old classic. As regards paint bake, check out Dave Silican in the detailing section, he will help sort you out.

Wow, a beauty! Reminds me of my very first Jag, a SIII in the same color, and my very first Jag head gasket replacement job. It was love at first sight and I turned back.
Yes, that guy on the detailing forum is awesome! I've learned a ton just reading some of his posts.

Thanks guys. I told the guy I'd buy it today. I'm giving him $1,700 and he's going to help me with a lot of the maintenance that needs to be done. I can't wait to get it and start cleaning, polishing, and restoring it!
