Default Transmission Option for a Series II

Hello everyone,

I'm inquiring about transmission options for my XJC6. I've seen the quarterbred adapter to put for a GM transmission. I've also thought about making it manual but, I was wondering if anyone used a new transmission with paddle shifter. Obviously, there would be more work trying to utilize but, curious if anyone tackled this type of project.

There's Motor Legends. I think it uses the Ford 6R80, an adaptation of the ZF 6HP used in many recent Jaguars. It's an excellent automatic, way ahead of all the older boxes. The Motor Legends option is very expensive. There are other sources for the electronic control, such as US Shift, but I don't know of anyone who produces the mechanical parts for adapting the 6R80 to our engines. If you can work something out, a lot of us would be interested.
