So I just bought a 1982 XJ6 and the trunk wont open. Its not the lock, because it still locks and unlocks, its the lever itself. I think it came disconnected somehow. Is there a way to get in to the trunk and/or fix it without doing too much damage?

 

There certainly is a way, and I had a 1980, but I am damned if I can remember. This never happened to me or else I would remember !! There may be a plugged hole behind the number plate. I can't think where else you would get access
