Trunk light issues

Trunk light issues
Hi,
The battery in my 86 XJ6 recently started to die if I left the car parked for a couple of days. I charged the battery several times and it is not the issue.
It was suggested, on this forum, that it could be the light in the trunk staying on. It was.
I placed my camera inside in movie mode and discovered that the trunk light is indeed staying on, even if the car is turned off.
Now that the problem has been diagnosed, what is the solution?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

As Doud said.
Fix that switch, but also consider changing the power feed for the boot light from LIVE, to the park light circuit, so whenever the lights are on so is the boot light circuit. OK, if that switch plays up the boot light is on, when the lights are ON, but usually the engine is running so no flat battery, and when you park the beast for the night the lights are OFF so is the power supply for that boot light. This I did on our S2 cause I could never get that damn switch to stay "reliable", and push starting a Jag is just SO common haha.
I do note that a lot of other brands of vehicles have the boot (trunk) light and the glovebox light circuits powered by the light circuit of the car, so maybe it is not just a Jag thing, mmmmm.
