Hello,

My power brake unit is starting to go. The red "BRAKE" light has been going on and off intermittently; usually when I step on the brakes, but not always. Also the "Anti-Lock" amber light has been taking longer than usual to go off when I start the car.

This morning, I had no power brakes and FUSE 6 (30 amps) was blown. After I replaced the fuse, the power brakes returned, but I know it's just a matter of time before the fuse is blown again.

Would appreciate references for websites where I can order a rebuilt power brake unit?

the Series 3 XJ has no Anti Lock brakes thanks heaven! Regardless, there are brake booster remanufacturers who will rebuild yours or exchange it. Do a search with the term "Jaguar brake booster exchange".

make sure the Brake Fluid Level is topped up, the Float in the brake fluid reservoir is not stuck, and that the Brake Fluid Level Sensor is not the reason you are getting a Brake light and ABS light flashing.

 

Yes, I've been searching the web for such part, and I've bought numerous other parts online in the past. I was looking for references on online stores from other forum members. Fluid level is fine, but thanks for the suggestion.
