warm start problem

warm start problem
Hi Friends
My problem is probably not worth a new thread, but for me it`s a little bit annoying. When the engine is cold it starts with the first try. After I have driven a while (30 min) The engine has warmed up a bit. Go in a shop and buy a newspaper maybe. Try to start the engine again. Grrrrrrrrit takes 3 to 5 turns before starting. I would appreciate any advice on this problem.
Thanks
Bob

To be clear, do you mean 3 -5 spins of the starter? That's typical. It doesn't get any better than that. Or at least * I've * never experienced any better...and I've driven and worked on many Series IIIs.
Try this for fun:
Next time you start the car let the starter spin a couple times, then release the key. Now try starting again. If yours is like most, it will now start on a half-spin. This anomaly is common. Nobody that I know has been able to conclusively answer why it occurs.
Anyhow, you can go through all sorts of work trying to improve the situation-- full tune up, professionally cleaned injectors, experiment with timing and different fuel, clean all connections, new coil and amplifier, etc. Maybe you'll get some improvement, maybe you won't. You probably won't, as you're trying to fix something that isn't identifiably broken.
Others will chime in
Cheers

1991 Jaguar XJ6 series 3, with direct injection.

Hold everything.
Judging from the year (1991) and Serial number (657541) it looks like you have the later "XJ40" type XJ6, not a Series III. The last Series III XJ6 was something like 473xxx in April 1987.
Since you posted in the Series III section, I was speaking in Series III terms.
Post in the XJ40 section. They might have some different advice.
