What did they do back in the day?
Today its all about big spoilers on FWD cars and "Carbon Fibre" vinyl wrap.
The question is thus..
What did the car modifiers of 1976 do?
Is there anyone thats gone away from the classic restoration look and gone more for a modified beast of a Jag?
I am very fond of the no bumpers look / the bumpers i have currently as I've not seen them before.

I guess everyones experience will be different depending on location and what tribe they belonged to. My memories of the modified car scene Sydney in the 70s are more of performance and less of wings and wraps. People seemed for more interested in the way the cars went than worrying much about appearance, with wheels being the big exception. There was a guy in my area with what looked like just a nice aqua/white roof lowered EH holden, except for the 327's fuel injection horns sticking out of the bonnet :-)
I'm talking mainstream type people here. There where guys doing amazing customs and hot rods but that was the exception not the norm.

.I fell in love and I have literally no idea what I'm doing.

Well, mid 70s is not "back in the day" for me. Trucks were my thing about then.
And, some Corvairs, one of those was a van!! 39 Plymouth (aka Dodge), 32 Ford, 48 Ford, 50 ford, 47 Ford 1/3 ton flat bed, 57 Ford, 55 Dodge.... Except for the Corvair camperized van, all pickups.
Then, 4x4's. 51/56 Lumped ****** pickup. 69 Toyota FJ40 soft top. 79 IHC Scout II. 85 Ford pickup, 94 Jeep still around.
The one and only Jaguar was truly a different adventure. Four doors heretofore not a favorite. Have to way back to the last one.... a 31 Studebaker in about 1950.
If I didn't like my Jaguar so much as did my dear departed, it would've gone down the road on it's engine catastrophe. Much sweat and many $'s got it running again.... Speak of blood, sweat and tears.....
Well, at least for now, it is purring. everything fixed, nope, a bit to go...
On Jag fix sabbatical at present.
