Can anyone tell me if the LSD diff from a XJR6 will fit into a 1977 XJC back axle

With enough effort I'd say *anything* is possible

But....

The XJR/6 differential has an entirely different mounting arrangement so it wouldn't be a 'bolt in'....if that's what you were hoping for.

Anything XJS will work in the 'cage' for the rear suspension.

Why? Easier ways to get power lock....


1. Use an Auburn, Eaton or other locker and Dana 44 side bearings, Summit racing ships world wide.


2. Find an late XJS at a recycler, they were 3.54:1 and have a low bias power locking diff.

 

As I have the LSD out of the XJR , I was actually wondering if it could just be put in the XJ6 housing .

 

As Doug stated... With enough time and money, you could probably make it work.

The Diffs are basically the same in the 'E'Type, XJ-S and XJ6/12 Sedans.
The XJ40/X300/X308/X100 was a completely different setup.
