XJ6 Fuel Pump Hell
Hello,
I just replaced the fuel pump in my 1992 XJ6 (again). I started the car while it was still up in the air and it was running fine. Shut it down.
(I had to re-seat one of the fuel lines to get it to stop leaking.)
Started it again and it ran for a minute or two then stalled. I dove under the car and saw the fuel line connecters were all sealed up. :-)
Tried to start it a again, no go...
It blew the fuel pump fuse.
Has anyone heard of OEM fuel pumps shorting out in 5 min or less?
When I disconnect the fuel pump and turn the ignition on the fuse does not blow.
Help!

Now it gets fun.
I am blowing the C8 25A fuse when the car is running after about a minute.
I just pulled the tank, got the pump out and tested it a less than 2 amps.
I hooked up the old pump and it tested at less than two amps.
Can anyone send me a schematic that shows where fuse C8 is going?
All this after setting up the return of the new fuel pump...
