Are your seats sagging?
So, the seats in my XJ6 were terrible. I could feel the frame when sitting down. Finding a good replacement is very hard so what I did was fit the bottom part of the seats from a XJ40. They fit in the original frame and the rear seat aswell. 0 adjustments to the car you just lift the bottom part out and put the XJ40 one back.

if the old seat was sagging it was probably the Rubber Diaphragm and/or the Foam Pads.
you can still get those parts from World Upholstery:
Seat Upholstery, Carpet Sets, Converitble Tops, Headliners, Door Panels and Rubber Seals for Jaguar XJ Series Sedans from World Upholstery & Trim
However, the XJ-40 seat is superior, I think it is longer and it has better thigh support than the original Series 1, 2, and 3 seats.

Great. I was worried I said something inappropriate for a second, haha. Hope it's useful to anyone. It's very useful to me. Today I went to the store, which is about a 10 mile drive and I must say the seats are superb, the rest of the seats could use some fixing up. I'll see if I can do anything about that.

Here I am, again. I took apart some seats to see what's inside. I thought my series 1 seats were very good after the XJ40-modification (pictures above) but I think I managed to improve the seat even more.
The problem: The series 1 seat back was sagging too. The rubber round pieces were too old and as a result I would sit bent over forward, which wasn't very comfortable. The seat only supported my shoulders and sides.
I had 2 spare series 3 seats. They have a knob to adjust support in the lower back, something lacking in the series 1.
So, I took 1 series 3 seat apart and found that instead of rubber rings a proper frame with springs was fitted. It can be installed into the series 1 seat very easily. Why not swap over the frame? I would have to make holes in the series 1 seat cover and the frame base doesn't fit the series 1. Also, it's more work.
The springs are very tight! Like guitar strings. On the picture it's already fitted to the series 1 seat frame. Having a helping hand could be useful.
The leather cover including foam fits right over. Pull it tight and put the clamps back. The seat feels a lot better. The gap between back of the seat and bottom does annoy me though.. XJ40 =/= series 1 shape-wise. It doesn't fit 100%.
