Default 1982 XJS - Both sides power windows not working

Hi, I have a problem with my 1982 LHD XJS.

Both sides power windows stopped working at the same time. I guess my car have a circuit breaker, but i cant find it in the fuse department under the glove-box.

Where should I find it?

You're in the right area. Keep looking. Look for brown and brown/blue wires.

This might help:

You're looking for the square-ish 'thermal breaker'

Cheers

Thanks a lot.

The problem turned out to be the relay. Both windows worked when I jumped 87 - 30 (brown-blue wire).

I think I will remove the relay, its only function is to cut the current/power when ignition is off. Not a function I need or want to have.

Better to replace it, if I may be so bold. Having full battery current in the system all the time is not necessarily good news if something else 'downstream' shorts out. Cheap insurance?

What could possibly go wrong?

Ok, your are right. Changing relay is cheap and easy. I think i might even have one or two somewhere...
