Battery is strong and charged, good connections, ignition turns on, lights & radio work, fuel pump runs for 2 or so seconds - however no sound from the starter when the key is turned to start position. Faint click sound from under the dash - wont turn over! Any thoughts?

 

If you are sure about the battery then check the ground on the starter.

Have someone try to start while you put a meter on the battery to see what the voltage drops to.

 

There is an inhibit microswitch on the gear selector, this might have got out of alignment. Just worth trying to start her in neutral, as opposed to park, if you have not already tried to. The inhibit switch might be Ok in neutral.

Also, the electrical bit on the back of the ignition lock might be worn out. Also worth trying about 25 goes of the key - start and off star and off - quickly to see if that revives the contacts.

After that, test to see if the key signal is reaching the relay . Under the bonnet, RHS under a black cover on the wing, near the screen.
