1988 5.3 xjs overheating

Default 1988 5.3 xjs overheating

hey guys
so i change the radietor hoses (all of the 14 hoses)
no leaks from there, i replace the 2 thermostat and the car get overheat

any idea what i should do next ?

You have to make sure that you bleed the system properly otherwise you will get air pockets.
Also, did you fit the correct thermostats? They should have 'jiggle' pins in that will allow the air to escape the system; the thermostats should be mounted with the pins at the top.

Did you:
  • Clean out the radiator fins and those of the aircon condenser and oil cooler which are in front of it.

Was it overheating before?
If NO: you have air in the system or the wrong thermostats
If YES: check your fan clutch
