Afaicr, it will go two ways. Not a big deal. Put it together, and if it doesn't start, take it apart, and move it 180 degrees. Or, switch coil leads. That is easier.
Please correct me if I am wrong but I think it would be very difficult to install the rotor incorrectly.
If you look at the photos below you will notice that the screw holes on the rotor and distributor are not on the same centerline. One of the holes is slightly off center.
I'm pretty sure the offset is there to insure proper rotor alignment.
