Default 1994 4.0 Front End rebuild

Back at it again. Im going to refurbish the front end with a rebuilt steering rack, on the 4.0 this month. So decided to rebuild the entire front end suspension. What combo of rubber and poly should I use? Vendors that I should use. I dont want to touch those bushings again for a long time. Thanks!

Agree with Greg on the suspension. I like the poly on the steering rack mounts on my 4 litre convertible.

Good luck

I found that you have to pull the exhaust manifold in order to get at the lower control arm bushings (pass side) . The exhaust is in the way of the bolt coming all the way out unless someone knows some trick.
With the rusty bolts on something connected 25 years plus. The job becomes a real PIA.

lasstss,

That's interesting. I didn't have to remove the manifold on my AJ16 4 litre to do the suspension on my car?

might be a positioning thing. I have the 6 cyl in my 95. I could not get the lower right control arm bolt out. I could get it about 90%.

Not a luxury you will enjoy if you ever have to do the bottom wishbones on your pre HE Paul! Not the that manifolds will need moving, just the entire cage needing to be swung down

So just to be clear. Which bushings should I order? I want to be thorough and dont want to miss a single bushing upper and lower. Thanks!

Item 3 on this diagram, you need 4:
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

Items 4 and 5 on this diagram, you need 4 sets
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

Item 10 on this diagram, you need 2
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

Plus steering rack bushes if they are needed, choose either neoprene, poly or genuine Jaguarsport rack bushes for the best feel and precison.

Plus antiroll bar drop link bushes, numbers 23 24 25 on this diagram, two sets, and possible 2 no 18s if the ARB buhes are shot:
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic...6/brand/jaguar

After that it is just the balljoints (on the above diagrams) and track rod ends as needed. Genuine metalastic bushes (and genuine "Slipflex" bushes for the top wishbones) are not available from all suppliers. If you have a problem contact David Manners in the UK who will send what you need.
