Default 1994 xjs v12

I'm in the process of acquiring my grandfather's 94 XJS v12 white with tan interior and top 48k original miles it was sold new by Jaguar Palm beach who has done almost all maintenance on the car since sold new.

I will be bringing the car up to Long Island, NY. the car was just gone through, oil and air filters changed, throttle body cleaned and all else checked out good. needs headlight module as there is a short when you put the high beams on.

Anything I should be concerned about with the car or know up front?

I think you should know that this is a terrible car. And that you should seek someone to pawn it off on really fast, really cheap. I am really glad to help, if at all possible.

Apart from the Cost of the Gas to run Her, She sounds like a very nice car and one of the few Cars that looks 'Awesome' in White!

That's pretty much the car I have except mine is black on tan, black top. I picked it up 3 years ago from a guy in Freeport LI. Anyway, As long as the cooling system is up to par, you should be good to go for a drive home. That being said, check out the XJS Book in the Quick Links at the top of this section. Pay particular attention to the Marelli Failure write-up. It's not something to loose any sleep over, but just be aware of it and what to do in case it happens. You'll also find a Buyers Guide there. Although that doesn't really apply to you, it does have some excellent points on stuff to look at.
Also, the previous owner's choice of mechanic was a very good choice, JSS in Mineola.
Enjoy, and post pictures.

Bill

Thanks, coolant is fairly fresh we had it checked over last week. I do need to get my hands on a spare tire though the one in the car has a hole. Bill C, I've heard good things about jss and use jagpro in bellmore n my cars.

update, made a few calls to transporters as an option since scheduling was looking a few months out to fly down and drive up. A transporter who came highly recommended from a client happened to be about to leave west palm with one open spot on his enclosed trailer. and offered to bring it up for about what I would spend to drive it. Car will be here wed or thurs.
